After a windy, mud-filled morning at Maplewood State Park, the series leaderboard looks completely different and at the halfway point in the series, the race is on! Renae Sell-Lindgren and Sam Petersen can attest to the benefits of showing up on race day, as both of the three-for-three competitors are now in the lead.
Strong running performances by Bridget Leonard and Tara Wagner have propelled them to second and third place in the women's side, while men's leader Dave Jensen drops back to second after sitting this week out. Jackrabbit Jake Gustafson moves up to third, bumping Super Jensen Brother the younger (AKA Nathan) down to fourth.
The age group competitions are heating up as well. The men's 50-59 division should prove to be a race to watch, with some seasoned competitors battling it out for top honors.
Remember that you must complete four events to be eligible for a series award. Following the Hoot Lake Triathlon and thereafter, participants who are mathematically ineligible to complete the series will not be included in the series standings. On the flip side, participants who compete in five or six events will receive bonus points for their finishes!
