Despite Saturday's rain, spirits remained undampened at the Lake Region Run. Undaunted by the oncoming storm, Fergus Falls runner Jaci Wilson bested the old half marathon women's course record by nearly three minutes, and cruised easily to a first place finish, netting herself 175 series points in the process. On the men's side, Clay Danielson returned home from college track season in great shape, running a 1:20:04 and getting himself out to an early series lead.
Yet another course record fell in the 5k as past women's 5k champion Paige Larson came home to take top honors once again with a 19:05 run, breaking the 2015 record set by Jackie Larson. Paige was only steps behind Thomas Horgeshimer, who took the men's title with a time of 18:54.
Coming up next is the Running Wild Trail Run this Saturday, June 9.
